Tickets are now on sale for Northern Ireland’s first ‘boutique’ Festival, The Willowstone Arts and Music Festival, taking place in the idyllic setting of the Delamont Country Park on the outskirts of Killyleagh on Saturday 27th June. In what promises to be the first of its kind, The Willowstone Festival will feature a full-day of local and international artists, workshops and fun events for all ages set to a backdrop of music from some of the best bands performing today.
Fresh from their Meteor Music Award nominations and the release of a new single, Republic Of Loose will headline the main stage on the day. Billed as ‘the best band in Ireland’ the ‘Loose will be going on to support U2 after their Willowstone appearance and they lead an exciting line-up which comprises of top Northern Ireland bands Ed Zealous, Panama Kings, the NI Soul Troop and Heliopause.
The Delamont Walled Garden will be transformed into an entertainment park for the Willowstone Festival as London based artist Francis Barking will dress the Garden with his unique art installations which double as interactive games and artist/inventor Paddy Bloomer will present his “Sacry-Go-Round” Funfair. The Festival coincides with the 10 year anniversary of the Strangford Millennium Stone and so Welig Crafts have sculpted a 5metre high replica of the Strangford Stone in the very centre of the Walled Garden. Everyone is welcome to take part in the game design, basket making and other workshops held by Welig Crafts along with the other artists taking part in the Festival.
The inaugural Willowstone Arts and Music Festival offers the most fun day out in Northern Ireland this summer. Should the excitement become too much for anyone, the Hilden Brewing Company will be on hand to provide refreshments in their unique Teepee bar.
