Mik Pyro will provide guest vocals when he appears with Don Baker on the Saturday Night Show on RTE tomorrow.
They will be performing the track ‘Blues Junkie’ which is the first song to be heard from Don Bakers new album ‘My Songs, My Friends’.
The album, which is due for release in early 2012 will also feature contributions from Sinead O’Connor, Damien Dempsey, Finbar Fury, Liam O’Maonlai, Rob Strong, Louis Stewart, Mickey Jo Hart, Frankie Gavin, John Spillane & Clara Rose.
‘Blues Junkie’ is one of two tracks Mik Pyro has lent guest vocals to, the second track is a duet with Don Baker entitled ‘Fool For You Baby’.
Speaking about the collaboration Don Baker said “Mik Pyro is a breath of fresh air. He’s the most original and exciting singer I’ve heard in the last 40 years”

Republic of Loose announce more Special Guests for their 2nd Academy show
Republic of Loose played the first gig of their month long residency at the Academy last Friday, bringing the house down with a two hour set of classics and new songs. For the encore the Loose were joined onstage, first by Jape for his trippy classic ‘Floating’ and then by Sinead O’Connor for the Curtis Mayfield song ‘We People’ followed by a show stopping performance of ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’
This week the Loose have lined up an eclectic collection of special guests who will join the already confirmed Dirty Epics and The Millionaire Boyz at The Academy. Special guests on the night will include violinist Cora Venus Lunny and world famous Opera singer Judith Mok, with a very special guest who will not be announced.

This weeks free download is ‘Somebody Screamed’. Originally recorded for the platinum selling album Aaagh!, this live version is taken from the special edition of Aaagh! and was recorded at the Oxegen festival in Ireland.
