Republic of Loose begin their month long residency at the Academy in Dublin this Friday April 4th. Special guests joining the band onstage for the gig will be Jape and Sinead O’Connor.

The 3rd Republic of Loose album, set for an April 25th release will be called VOL IV: Johnny Pyro And The Dance Of Evil. Songs confirmed for the album include, I Like Music, The Steady Song, You Do Me(and I’ll do you), My Brain, Awful Cold, Drop, I.R.I.I.S.H, 13 Shots, Got, (they’re gonna miss me) When I’m Gone, The Telephone, Things I dont like, The Ritual and Poquito.
Republic of Loose will be performing two songs on FM104’s Strawberry Alarm Clock tomorrow morning at about 9am. Tune in to 104 on the FM dial or on www.fm104.ie
’Shut Up Man’ is the first free download from the Loose in the run up the release of the new album. It was the b-side to the ’Shame’ single from the Platinum selling album ’Aaagh!’ and will be available to download on the Republic of Loose My Space site for the next week, so get it fast as it will be replaced next friday with another track.

Republic of Loose announce more Special Guests for their 3rd Academy show
Republic of Loose played the second gig of their month long residency at the Academy last Friday, bringing the house down with a two hour set of classics and new songs. For the encore the Loose were joined onstage by a string section led by Cora Venus Lunny to perform two songs with renowned Opera singer Judith Mok. Then it was the turn of the legend that is Damien Dempsey. Delighting the already ecstatic crowd Damo led the Loose through a breathtaking version of his haunting ballad ‘Bad Time Garda’ and finished with a mind-blowing take on Thin Lizzy’s classic ‘Dancin’ in the Moonlight’ .
This week the Loose have lined up an eclectic collection of guests who will join the already confirmed ‘The Cades’ and ‘The Millionaire Boyz’ at The Academy. Special guests on the night will include The Dirty Brass Horns with more guests to be announced.

The Song of the summer has arrived. Republic of Loose release their new single ‘The Steady Song’ this Friday 20/06/08 on CD and Download.
The CD version of the single includes a new mix of ‘I Like Music’ featuring US Hip-Hop artist Styles P.
